Nokia 808 PureView

The Nokia 808 PureView certainly made a splash at this year's Mobile World Congress, pinning the company back on the cameraphone map in an extremely advantageous position.
If you've been living in a cave these past few days, you might have missed some of the juicy details about the Nokia 808 and what makes it so special. So we'll make a quick recap.
The Nokia 808 PureView has a 4-inch AMOLED display with the rather lowly resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. Spiritually succeeding the Nokia N8, it runs Nokia Belle (previously known as Symbian) and it's centered around a 1.3 GHz processor. While this smartphone might technically revolve around that processor, what's got the publics imagination is actually the never-before-seen 41MP multi-aspect camera sensor.

Nokia Asha 303 Type smarter

At first, it felt strange, but a few minutes into it, we knew we were with a friend. The Asha 303 offers the familiar convenience of Touch and Type phones, but comes with a slightly bigger screen and – most importantly – a full QWERTY keyboard. With a connectivity set that borders on premium and a powerful 1GHz processor, the Asha 303 is ready to lead a Nokia return to markets the Finns like to call their own..
Key features
  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
  • Penta-band 3G with 10Mbps HSDPA and 2Mbps HSUPA
  • Asha S40 Touch and Type platform
  • Four-row hardware QWERTY keyborad
  • 2.6" QVGA 256K-color capacitive TFT touchscreen
  • 1GHz processor
  • 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM
  • 3 megapixel fixed-focus camera
  • VGA video recording at 15fps
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • Stereo FM radio with RDS
  • Bluetooth v2.1 (with A2DP)
  • Standard microUSB port (charging enabled)
  • USB On-The-Go support
  • microSD card slot (32 GB supported, 2GB included)
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • Angry Birds is Asha 300/303 exclusive

Save for the 3.2 megapixel camera (it’s fixed-focus across the range), the Asha 303 is the best equipped handset of the lineup. Not only is it the first QWERTY/touchscreen S40 phone, the capacitive display is a debut for the platform. The penta-band 3G support along with Wi-Fi and USB-on-the-go are worthy of a smartphone.

The Asha 303 is not a smartphone of course and the biggest omission is multitasking. Nokia’s S40 have never had that and it seems a shame that the 1GHz processor will never be really tested. Smart dialing is another No on the list – would’ve been a nice thing to have on a QWERTY phone.

Samsung Galaxy S III

Samsung has officially announced that the Samsung Galaxy S III would be available from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular starting in June. It would come 4.8-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 2.0 to guard against cracks and scratches and is powered by Snapdragon S4 Dual Core 1.5 GHz processor. Samsung announced Galaxy S III would be available in Canada on 30th June.
It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with TouchWiz with Motion UX. It has some unique featuresincluding S Voice, S Beam, AllShare Play, All Share Cast, Pop up play, Best photo and more.

Other features are similar to the global variant such as 8MP Rear-facing camera and 1.9MP Front-facing camera. It comes with 16/32GB internal memory and has expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD. The connectivity features include, 4G LTE / HSPA+ 42 ,NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and GPS. It comes with 2100 mAh battery.

The global mobile industry is currently being dominated by Android smartphones, but to challenge Android, Nokia has come up a brand new Windows Phone 7 range of smartphones, called Nokia Lumia devices. One of the most prominent devices amongst the Lumia range is Nokia Lumia 610. This handset justifies its tag of ‘smartphone’. The device has got all that, which is necessary to be present in a high-class smartphone these days. Starting with the processor, Nokia Lumia 610 is powered by a decent processor running at the speed of 800 MHz and sports Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system. The 3.7 inches of TFT capacitive touch-screen display is impressive while the internal memory storage of 8 GB is sufficient. However, the device doesn’t feature micro-SD card slot to expand the memory, which is a sad part here. But what will cheer you up are the connectivity features, which comprise of GPRS/EDGE support, Wi-Fi, micro-USB port and Bluetooth. The camera department scores high marks as the 5 megapixels of rear camera with facilities like LED flash, autofocus and geo-tagging capture images and record videos of superb quality. Sadly, Nokia Lumia 610 misses out on the secondary camera, but it could be excused for once. But if the users are looking for making video calls, then they might face a bit of difficulty as without secondary it won’t be easy to make video calls. But, apart from this, Nokia Lumia 610 is an inspiring smartphone, which could literally give a tough competition to other Android devices being sold in the global mobile bazaar
